Terrace of four houses. Erected in the 1860s by Caroline Brewin, John Heathcote's daughter, married to Heathcote's business partner, Ambrose Brewin. Flemish bond yellow brick with brick ridge stacks to natural slate roofs.
EXTERIOR: double-depth plan; the north end is recessed and rounded, linked with Nos 4-18 (even) St Paul Street (qv). Two storeys with attic; nine window range. Gauged brick flat arches over four-panelled doors, with Doric doorcase to No.35 on left (north) and alleyway to right, and over eight/eight-pane sashes.
INTERIOR: not inspected.
An important element in the group of artisan and middle-class housing around St Paul's Church (qv).
