House and shop. Early or mid C19; possibly a remodelling of an
C18 house. Solid, rendered walls, probably of brick. Slated
roof with red ridge-tiles. Old red brick chimney on each gable
end, both with ornamented pots; the right-hand chimney has
been heightened slightly.
2 storeys. 3-window range. Ground storey arranged in 3 bays
flanked and separated by fluted wooden pilasters, the 3
left-hand pilasters surmounted by small sunk panels; at the
right-hand end the wall-face is recessed and the pilaster
finishes against a wooden corbel carrying the upper storey.
Whole ground storey finished with a wooden entablature, the
cornice at the left-hand end having the remains of an
ornamental iron cresting. Left-hand bay contains double doors
with diagonally-set planks. Door with vertical planks in
middle bay. Shop front in right-hand bay. Latter has 8-paned
display window, canted towards double door of shop on right
side; doors panelled below and glazed above. Upper storey has
6-paned sash windows in recessed box-frames. INTERIOR not
inspected.
