GV II
House. Mid C19. Brick in Flemish bond, with double and triple headers in some places. Gable facing roof of slate with deep bracketed eaves. 2-storey cross wing to left rear. EXTERIOR: 2 storeys with single-storey entrance porch to the left with brick plat to parapet and dentil cornice. 3-window range. All openings are flat-arched. Entrance with flush architrave and cornice; jambs treated as half Tuscan pilasters supporting an entablature lintel. All ground-floor windows with architrave and cornice; 6x6 sashes of an original design to ground-floor windows with projecting sills and gauged brick lintels. First-floor windows with fretted architraves with antefixae and ornamental pelmets. Stacks to rear of cross gable; one pair of stacks to right return, with one 1st-floor window between them. INTERIOR: not inspected. SUBSIDIARY FEATURES: front wall of original design: brick in modified Flemish bond, battered with pilaster strips and dentil cornice below coping; terminated at either end by red brick pier rebuilt since 1980. Forms a group with Nos 5 & 9-15 (odd) (qqv).
