The Willows and Northcroft
II
Pair of semi-detached villas. c1810. By George Tappen, the
College surveyor and Charles Druce. Stucco with slate roof
with deep eaves on extended rafters; small round-headed
dormers.
2 storeys, attic and basement, 2 bays each with entrances on
pedimented returns. The Willows has entrance porch with
paterae frieze to canopy flanked by small round-arched windows
with Gothick glazing bars. Lunette in round-arched recess on
1st floor above; oculus in pediment. Northcroft has pedimented
return with the same features and the addition of a trellised
porch with lead ogee canopy. Windows are in near flush frames
and have blind boxes, those on ground floor casements, those
on 1st floor sashes with glazing bars. Windows to outer bays
of returns are blind.
