GV II
11 terraced houses. 1835-41. Brick in Flemish bond, lintels and arches of gauged brick; painted stucco dressings. Roofs parapeted. EXTERIOR: 2 storeys over basement and 2 windows. Flat-arched entrances with 4-panel doors in round-arched recess; some overlights with decorative glazing bars; entrances flanked by Tuscan half antae; entrances to Nos 32 & 34 paired; round-arched window to the side of each entrance. First-floor windows are flat-arched and, like those to Nos 4, 10, 12 & 18 are set in segmental-arched recesses. Sill band to 1st floor. 6x6 sashes of an authentic design. INTERIOR: not inspected. SUBSIDIARY FEATURES: area railings. Nos 4-40 (even) Falmouth Road (qv) form a good group originally called Taunton Place and Queen's Terrace (the latter corresponding to the southern part of the surviving row). The terraces were renamed Brunswick Street in 1851-2 and Falmouth Road in 1867.
