3 houses. 1830-1850. Brick in Flemish bond with stucco facing to basement and stucco dressings. Roofs of slate. Gothic Revival style. EXTERIOR: 2-storey recessed entrance ranges with 3-storey gable facing insets; 2-storey carriage house to north of No.72. 2 windows each and one-window range to carriage house. All openings are flat-arched. Entrance up flight of steps set within porch entered by a Tudor diaphragm arch, simply chamfered, with Gothic coping to parapet. To the right is a gable-facing range, a rectangular bay to basement and ground floor; the ground-floor French doors are fronted by a pierced Gothic parapet, enclosing a shallow porch; simple glacis roof to bay of all except for No.72, where a C20 tile roof has replaced the original. The French doors have casements of an original design: 1 pane transoms over each 3-pane door, all with margin lights. Quoins to corners of end units and 3-storey insets which have gable kneelers and coping. All 1st-floor windows above the entrance are 2-light with original 6x6 glazing with 4-light transoms; all 1st-floor windows in the gable ranges are 3-light with mullions and transoms of original design; all windows to 1st and 2nd floors with flush architraves and chamfered jambs. Carriage house has late C19 or early C20 doors with a entrance to the left set in a 4-centred Tudor arch; 3-light windows above. Stacks to party walls. INTERIOR: not inspected. The units form a group with Nos 74-78 (even) (qqv).
