GV II

House. 1830-1850. Brick in Flemish bond with stucco to basement and stucco dressings; gable facing roof of slate. EXTERIOR: 2 and 2-and-a-half storeys over basement. 3-window range. All openings flat-arched unless otherwise stated. Up steps to entrance with overlight, set in porch supported by a pair of pierced corner piers. 2-panel door of C19 design. Entrance set in recessed range, narrower than the rest. To right a pair of windows, each with aedicule consisting of flush architrave, console bracket and pediment; projecting sills with cast-iron balconettes of Greek Revival palmettes; windows with original ornamental pelmets. Sill band to 1st-floor windows, each of which has 2x2 sashes with margin lights of an original design and a cornice supported on brackets. Round-arched attic window just under peak of gable with projecting sill and flush architrave. Entrance range finishes in gable facing return, forming a rudimentary cross wing to south. Projecting eaves to main elevation and return, of one-window range, with brackets and boarded soffits. Dormer to entrance range. INTERIOR: not inspected. Part of a group with Nos 68-76 (even).
