Pair of semi-detached houses. 1829. Stucco with hipped slate roof with overhanging eaves; central chimney stack. 2 storeys and basement, 2 bays each, the outer entrance bay slightly lower and recessed with a separately hipped roof. Steps up to square-headed doorways with plain reveals (trellised wooden porches now lost). Central section articulated by 3 tall fluted pilasters (flanking windows) which rise through both floors and have ammonite capitals (a motif popularized by Amon Wilds at Brighton and now very rare in London) supporting segmental arches over 1st-floor windows. Windows are square-headed in plain reveals, those in the central section with margin lights. Ground-floor windows are tall casements with console bracketed cornices, those to 1st floor are sashes with glazing bars. INTERIOR: not inspected. Part of a row formerly of 3 pairs; similar in style and possibly by same builder as Nos 864 & 866 Old Kent Road (qv). Nos 6 & 8 and Nos 10 & 12 (qv) form a group.
