Public house. c1840. Painted brick with polished stone and timber ground floor (altered). Rounded corner (above ground floor) with return along Commercial Way. EXTERIOR: Old Kent Road elevation 3 storeys, 3 bays, with slightly projecting side sections with low, pediment-like gables over deep eaves soffit. Projecting ground floor continues around corner and along return, with modified Ionic pilasters supporting fascia board and dentil cornice, and flanking windows. Sash windows with glazing bars on upper floors, all with flat, gauged-brick arches except outer 2 on 1st floor of main elevation, which have segmental arches. Entrances at canted corner, between paired pilasters, and at far left. Huge, prominent signboard at 2nd-floor level on corner and along return, depicting drovers in a landscape. INTERIOR: has composite columns supporting 1st floor. Late C19 carved mahogany bar fittings and engraved glass.
