II

Terraced houses. Mid C19. Stock brick in Flemish bond with
stucco facing to ground floor. The latter treated as banded
rustication. Roofs parapeted.
3 storeys over basement. 2 windows each. End units project
slightly, no more than one brick's thickness. Round-arched
entrances reached up short steps; to Nos 71 & 73 set to left
of party wall; Nos 75 & 77 to right. Pair of round-arched
windows to side of each entrance, all except for those to
No.71 have authentic 2x2 sashes with margin lights.
Ground-floor windows have, in addition, panelled spandrels.
Segmental-arched windows to basements. First-floor windows
with iron balconettes, each window with architraves and
bracketed cornice (brackets to No.71 removed). Gauged brick
lintels top 2nd-floor windows; 2x2 sashes. Brick entablature
band. Parapets are stucco faced. Stacks to party wall.
INTERIOR: not inspected.
SUBSIDIARY FEATURES: hand rails to front steps.
