GV II
Hand pump, converted in C20 to electric light lamp post. Late C19. Cast-iron on stone base. Gothic Revival Style. Rectangular lower step, on which a square base to octagonal pump, which is of 3 sections: the lowest plain; the 2 upper stages with panels filled with blind Gothic tracery and ornamental cap. Remnants of pump handle. The former pump forms a group with the drinking fountain and cattle trough immediately to the west, also on Southampton Way (qv).
