18 houses. 1793-4 with some partial rebuilding. By Searles. Yellow brick with some stucco dressings; coped parapet (slate mansard with dormers to Nos 20 & 44-48). EXTERIOR: 3 storeys (some attics) and basement, 3 bays each except slightly projecting Nos 44 and 48 of 2 bays each, flanking projecting centrepiece (No.46) of 5 bays with mutule cornice and pediment with stucco fan decoration in tympanum. Round-headed doors in round-arched recesses with stucco imposts and decorative fanlights (except No.22). Nos 26, 28, 32, 34 & 38 have doors replaced with windows. Nos 30-34 & 44-48 have round-headed ground-floor windows in round-arched recesses with stucco springing band. No.46 has 1st-floor sill band and stucco architraves to 1st- and 2nd-floor centre windows, that to 1st floor with console bracketed pediment. All other windows have gauged, flat brick arches. All windows are sashes, mostly with glazing bars. No.42 has plaque: "Samuel Palmer 1805-1881 artist born here". INTERIOR: not inspected. SUBSIDIARY FEATURES: wrought-iron handrails and area railings all along street with overthrow to Nos 42 & 50. Remaining 18 houses of raised terrace by Searles.
