Detached bridgemaster's house on west side of Tower Bridge
approach, partly office. Dated 1906. By Sydney Perks. Red
brick, with Portland stone flush faced ground floor, frieze,
cornice, blocking course and banded quoins to front elevation.
Stock brick south return and rear.
3 storeys with lower level beneath bridge approach, 3 bays
with early C18-style detailing. Recessed door to right hand
bay with bolection architrave, swept up at head. Central
1st-floor window has pedimented eared architrave and a Rococo
cartouche keystone rising to its sill from the window below.
Gauged brick segmental arches to all other windows which are
flush-framed sashes with glazing bars and brick aprons below
sills. North return has 1 Venetian window at 1st floor.
INTERIOR: not inspected.
SUBSIDIARY FEATURES: a wrought-iron gate to right gives access
to steps down to lower level Tower Bridge workshops in yard
beside and beneath the bridge approach.
