4 houses. 1851-2. Yellow brick with stucco dressings and basement; low pitched slate roof, pedimented gable end with egg-and-dart moulding to street on paired, heavy console brackets. Linked pairs of houses; 3 storeys and basement, 1 main bay each, with an outer, slightly recessed entrance link of 2 storeys, 1 bay. Round-arched doorway in stucco panel with pilasters and entablature, frieze with key moulding, dentil and modillion cornice. Small sash window with stucco architrave above. Large 4-light ground-floor windows with stucco architraves and entablature with console bracketed cornice, projecting sills with decorative cast-iron guards. Stucco panel above sweeps up to 1st-floor tripartite sash windows with stucco pilasters supporting entablature with dentil cornice. Stucco architraves to coupled, round-arched 2nd-floor sash windows with guttae below sills. INTERIOR: not inspected. The Lord Nelson Public House (qv) and Nos 16-64 (even) (qqv) form a group.
