Symmetrical front with recessed centre and projecting side bays. Central Doric portico with dentillated cornice, and slate steps and pedestals. This appears to be the original portico, moved forward and increased in width late C19, as the extensions have a blue brick plinth. Above , a segment headed 6/6 sashes with projecting surround. Side bays have similar sashes in plain openings. South front, divided by pilasters, has a central 6/6 sash flanked by early C19 canted bay window, with a french window to left, and a large glazing bar window to right. These bay windows have blue brick and rendered plinths, and probably have been resited. Above, three 6/6 sashes. Left return has a similar bay window to right, and a round headed stair window to left. An external corridor links the main building to the single storey ballroom. This has a large square wooden bay window to west, and a projection with external brick stack to north. Service ranges have mainly original 3-light casements to south, and canted oriel window to the first floor. On the north side a canted oriel window set cornerwise, and a triangular oriel window further to the east. At the east end, two hipped single bay projections, with three 6/6 sashes in the recessed bay between them, and a 5-light box dormer to the attics above.
INTERIOR: two half-glazed double doors, the inner pair with glazing bars. Central hallway and stair well have cornices. Early C19 stair and landing, with double stick balusters and ramped, scrolled hardwood handrail. Elliptical arch on columns and C19 fireplaces in cross hall. Left front room has late C19 panelling and early C19 arches flanking a renewed fireplace. Right front room has early C19 Classical style marble fireplace. First floor landing has elliptical arches. Main bedrooms have cornices, and mid C19 slate fireplaces. Minor bedroom has early C19 eared fireplace and cornice. Most rooms have early C19 beaded panelled doors.
