Mansion, later part of school, now derelict. c1825. Ashlar-faced with Welsh slate roof. Tudor Gothic style. 2 storeys, 5-window range, the main section symmetrical about central entrance bay with additional wing of 2 windows recessed to left-hand side. Central projecting entrance porch with 4-centred arched doorway and castellated parapet. Traceried overlight to inner doorway. Octagonal pilasters either side of central bay which forms tower, the pilasters forming turrets each side of castellated parapet. Pairs of wood mullioned and transomed windows to either side and to left-hand side wing, all with labels and sills continued as projecting string course. Squared bay window to left-hand wing, flanked by narrow windows or doors, now blocked. Embattled parapets throughout, terminating in main block with octagonal finials over slender angle buttresses. INTERIOR not inspected. HISTORICAL NOTE: formerly the home of Sir Thomas Agnew, a noted authority on art.
