GV II

Terrace of houses. c1860-80. Brick, most of which is painted; dry slate stepped roofs with large front gables with exposed purlin ends; large brick end stacks. Simple Gothic style. Double-depth plan, each house with 1 room at the front and each pair with paired central entrances. 2 storeys plus attics; each pair of houses a symmetrical 6-window front. Each house has a segmental-arched gable window (most with sashes) over a large central corbelled oriel with 4-light splayed transomed stone mullioned window with shouldered heads to the lights and with a hipped roof over a moulded cornice. Flanking single lights also have shouldered heads. Ground floor of each house has pair of depressed 2-centred-arched window openings with transomed wooden casements and pointed-arched doorway with Y-traceried fanlight over a doorway with shouldered head. INTERIOR: not inspected.
