SX4655 PARADISE ROAD, Stoke 740-1/42/675 (North side) Furneaux tomb immediately north of Church of St Andrew

GV II

Large tomb. Early-mid C19 to Captain Tobias Furneaux. Rubble side wall with dressed stone coping retaining 1 side of rectangular stone paved area; high rubble entrance walls (qv) to 2 sides and wrought-iron railings to the other 2 sides. The shafts of the railings and the turned stanchions have turned finials. Captain Furneaux sailed with Captain Cook on the 1st global navigation.
