Radford Lodge and gate-piers

Lodge to the former Radford House (demolished 1937). Probably
late C18, extended late C20. Stucco or render with simple
stucco detail including plinth and impost string; dry slate
cross roof behind pediment to each side; central feature is
the truncated remains of the former dome, now surmounted by a
turned finial. Square single-cell plan plus extensions.
Recessed segmental panel to each side, only 2 sides still
properly visible: the one to the road front with a hornless
sash with glazing bars, the side facing the carriageway with a
panelled door and a moulded hood over.
INTERIOR: not inspected.
SUBSIDIARY FEATURES: low walls in front linked to pair of
octagonal gate-piers with ramped caps surmounted by ball
finials.
Gate piers listed on 01/05/75.
