SO9620SW CHURCH STREET 630-1/36/39 (South West side) Pruen tomb chest approximately 30m N of north-west corner of Church of St Mary
GV II
Tomb chest to Sarah Pruen (d.1808) and husband Richard (d.1838). Limestone. Late Neo-Classical style. Shaped plinth, corners have fluted pilasters on vases with oval plaque to ends. Sides have raised inscription panel, surmounting slab with shaped underside. Richard Pruen was a Cheltenham solicitor and died at Ashchurch Rectory, residence of his younger son; Sarah was the daughter of Samuel Lesingham of London, Banker.
