Inn. c1834. Stucco over brick with slate roof, hipped to right, renewed brick ridge stacks. EXTERIOR: 2 storeys, 5 first-floor windows. First-floor band; 8/8 sashes to first floor in plain reveals and with sills. Ground floor: Off-centre right entrance a 4-panel door with bracketed canopy hood. To left of centre a wide segmental coach arch with keystone, plank doors. 3 windows to ground floor: to left a tripartite window with 8/8 between 2/2 sashes; otherwise 8/8 sashes. 3-bay right return has canted bay to ground floor and casement windows, those to first-floor in original openings and that to right blind. Link to 2-storey, 3-bay brick extension with 'functions' room on first floor. INTERIOR: noted in previous List as having 2 fireplaces. HISTORICAL NOTE: built after the new London Road was cut in 1825-6. (Paget M (ed), Charlton Kings Local History Society: A History of Charlton Kings: Gloucester: 1988-: 147).
