Terrace of 6 houses with attached railings and gates to basements. Finished 1833. Stucco over brick with concealed roofs, brick party-wall stacks and iron railings. Double depth plan with service wings to rear. EXTERIOR: 3 storeys with basements, 21 first-floor-window range (3 per house). Stucco detailing includes full-height Tuscan pilasters to ends and between houses; horizontal rustication to ground floor drawn into voussoirs above entrances; first-floor band; second-floor band; frieze and cornice. Windows: tall 6/6 sashes to first-floor; otherwise 6/6 sashes with sills, the centre second-floor window to each house is blind; in plain reveals except those to ground floor are channelled. Basements have mainly 6/6 sashes. Entrances (4 to left end, 3 to right): steps to 4-panel doors with fanlights with radial glazing-bars. Rear: mainly 6/6 sashes, some 8/8 sashes with margin-lights. Right return has mainly blind openings and one sash. INTERIOR: not inspected. SUBSIDIARY FEATURES: railings to sides of steps and across fronts with basement gates have alternate waved bars and halberd motif. First-floor windows have individual guards with oval and scroll motif. Stick balusters to sides of basement steps. Uniform scroll-type foot scrapers and bell pulls. Nos 114 to 136 originally known as Paragon Buildings. (Sampson A & Blake S: A Cheltenham Companion: Cheltenham: 1993-: 91).
