GV II
3 terraced houses and attached railings. c1820-30. Stucco over brick with limestone dressings, parapeted Welsh slate roof, rendered end stack. Double depth plan with service ranges to rear. EXTERIOR: 3 storeys, 6 first-floor windows (3 each). Raised first-floor sill band and plat band. No.29 has 1/1 sashes, with bracketed cornices to ground floor; similar bracketed cornice over recessed doorway to left, with panelled door. No.28 has 3/3 sashes to second floor; otherwise 6/6 sashes. Recessed doorway to right. INTERIOR: not inspected. SUBSIDIARY FEATURES: railings to sides of steps to No.28 have stick balusters. Embellished railings between houses for short stretch. Ground- and first-floor have embellished rods. HISTORICAL NOTE: shown on Merrett's Map of 1834. Part of a terrace which includes Walmer House, Bath Street (qv). (Merrett HS: Plan of the Town of Cheltenham: 1834-).
