SZ6299 BROAD STREET, The Point 774-1/11/443 (West side) No.13 Seagull Restaurant

GV II

Public house, now restaurant. c1910, altered. Attributed to GV Inkpen. Brown glazed tiles to ground floor and timber-framed with stucco infill above. Plain tile roof with brick stack at centre. 2 storeys, 2 x 2 bays with corner turrets. Round-headed door, now window with 2 round-headed sashes flanking. Frieze and projecting cornice over. Black and white 'half timbered' turret at corner with spirelet, gable on right and return on left. Windows set between timber framing. Patterns on stucco to panels below turret eaves. Left return similar, with entrance door on right and 3 round-headed windows to left. INTERIOR not inspected. (Lloyd DW: Buildings of Portsmouth and its Environs: 1974-: 48, 49 & 101).
