Pair of houses, now house and flats. c1830, late C20
alterations. Stuccoed. Welsh slate hipped roof, brick stack at
centre. 3 storeys, 4 bays. Ground floor has horizontal
rustication and stuccoed plinth. No.78 has door of 3 moulded
panels on right with overlight. To left late C20 16-pane sash
(replacing former bay window). No.80 has 3-panelled door on
left, upper panel glazed, overlight. To right 16-pane sash.
First floor has 4 12-pane sashes, each full length with access
to iron balcony and set within reeded surrounds with corner
blocks. Balcony supported on iron brackets with decorative
iron railings having crossed bars with anthemion and Vitruvian
scroll pattern panels. Band and moulded cornice over first
floor forming sillband to four 6-pane second-floor sashes.
Coped parapet. Right return has C20 added porch extension with
entrance door to No.78A. Fire escape stairs.
