House, later school and finally house subdivided. C17 building much reworked in mid C19.
Ground floor C17 painted brick on deep plinth, first floor C19 tile-hanging. Tiled roof with central brick chimneystack with 6 flues. Two storeys; 2 windows. First floor has four-light mullioned and transomed oriel windows on carved wooden brackets. Ground floor has four-light mullioned and transomed windows, all with C19 cast iron leaded lights with hexagonal panes. Central C17 carved doorcase with C17 studded door. Oak staircase reported. One storey C19 brick extensions on each side probably built as classrooms. Tiled roofs. One four-light mullioned and transomed window and gabled weatherporch with round-headed arch, pilasters and studded doors. This building was owned by the Barclays Estate and was a school for the estate workers' children in the later C19.
