House. C16; possibly with earlier origins; altered circa late C19. Stone rubble. Clay Bridgwater tile roof with gabled ends. Brick gable-end stack. PLAN: 3-room plan; right-hand [N] room at the high end is a circa C19 addition. Between the lower left-hand end room and the centre room is a through-passage; the lower left room is heated from a large gable-end stack with an oven and has a winder staircase against the stack; the room on the higher right-hand side of the through-passage is unheated and divided axially by a timber partition. There are attic rooms. EXTERIOR: 2 storeys. Asymmetrical widely spaced 2-window east front with C20 replacement windows in small openings and central doorway. The north gable end wall and outshut at the rear have collapsed. Rear [W] elevation has circa late C17 wooden 3-light chamfered mullion window on left with carpenter's mitres [one mullion is missing]. INTERIOR: lower left room has deeply chamfered cross-beam and boarded over joists, large gable-end fireplace with timber bressumer and ovens. Plank-and-muntin screen on low side of cross-passage. Higher right-hand room has remains of axial partition with doorway with shouldered head. Roof structure replaced, but the post of a side-pegged jointed cruck truss remains at the rear of the lower end.
