Barn. C17 [reputedly circa 1575-1625, Edward Roberts, Hampshire CC]; extended circa 1800. Weatherboarded timber-frame on brick plinth. Clay Bridgwater tile roof with gabled ends. PLAN: 3-bay barn with opposing cart entrances to central threshing bay with midstrey on north side; extended in circa 1800 by one bay at west end. EXTERIOR: Gabled midstrey to left of centre on north side with boarded double doors to cart entrance. South side has cart entrance to right of centre with boarded double doors. INTERIOR: 3-bay frame to original barn with queen-post trusses with collars and clasped purlins, and straight wind-braces. Broad common-rafter couples. Wall-posts without jowls, and with curved braces to the tie-beams [some braces replaced]. Wall-framing: large mid-rail and tension-braces, but studs missing.
