SO9522NW NORTH PLACE 630-1/10/587 (East side) 14/12/83 Nos.5 AND 6 and attached area railings

GV II

Pair of terraced houses, now flats. c1810-30. Stucco to front facade over brick with slate roof, brick end, party-wall and rear stacks, iron balconies and railings. EXTERIOR: 3 storeys, 8 first-floor windows (4:4 originally); central service range to rear. Stucco detailing includes first- and second-floor bands; crowning frieze (missing to right) and cornice with blocking course. 6/6 sashes throughout, taller to first floor, basement has 3/6 sashes; all in plain reveals and with sills. Entrances below 2nd, 4th and 7th windows: 3 steps (roll-edged where original) to 6-panel doors (those to left have upper raised and fielded panels and lower flush panels) with overlights. Coped gable ends. INTERIOR: noted as including original joinery, including panelled shutters. SUBSIDIARY FEATURES: scrolled lozenge and panelled railings to area and to sides of outer steps. 4 first-floor windows at right have individual balconies with embellished rods and central circle motif.
