GV II

Semi-detached villas and attached railings. c1840. Stucco over brick with concealed roof and brick party-wall stacks; iron balcony, verandah and railings. EXTERIOR: 2 storeys on basement, 6 first-floor windows. Stucco detailing includes: horizontal rustication to ground floor with voussoirs over windows; tooled first-floor band; tooled architraves to first floor; crowning frieze, dentil cornice at right, reduced cornice at left; low parapet and blocking course with copings. 1/1 and 2/2 sashes, some with margin lights, taller to ground floor. Windows to first floor at right have blind boxes. 3/6 sashes to basement. End entrances, steps to 6-panel doors with overlights and sidelights. INTERIOR: not inspected. SUBSIDIARY FEATURES: continuous ornate balconies at ground floor, and verandah to right with scrolled uprights and tent roof. Ornate railings to sides of steps with wreathed handrail.
