Villa. Dated 1864, altered C20. Red brick with ashlar dressings; Welsh slate roof with brick chimneys. EXTERIOR: 2 storeys, 3-window range. Symmetrical front to street has canted bay windows on ground floor with stone surrounds and bracketed cornices and blocking courses; Gothic quatrefoil stone panel at centre has relief inscription `AD1864'. First floor has paired lights over bay windows with pointed-arched arched heads and central light with straight head, all in chamfered stone surrounds with alternate block jambs. Mansard roof has eaves raised over side bays and stone gutter cornice on long stone brackets which ride over dogtooth brick cornice. Left return in similar style with bay window at right. Right return has long first bay, with Gothic 'EC' relief monogram in stone roundel high at left; projecting right bay with single and triple lights; extruded porch between them has pointed arch to half-glazed door in stone surround and stepped stone parapet; 3-light stair window above has lancet lights in stone surround with ball-flower stops to dripmould, above which eaves rise. INTERIOR: marble-tiled entrance and richly moulded Gothic stair balustrade.
