Dovecote to Marske Hall (qv) and garden wall attached, on land formerly in Hall grounds but now the gardens to Nos 26 & 28 Redcar Road (not included). Early C18, with C19 alterations. Brick dovecote in garden of No.26 has roof of Welsh slate with stone ridges. Octagonal plan. EXTERIOR: 2 storeys. Boarded doors in north and west bays of second floor have pigeon holes and shelves; asymmetrically laced floor and eaves strings, with part of the moulding eroded. Low pitched hipped roof with central wrought-iron finial. Ground-floor door not seen. INTERIOR: not inspected. SUBSIDIARY FEATURES: garden wall in gardens of Nos 26 & 28 is stone on west elevation, with ashlar coping; east elevation not seen. Wall runs north from dovecote, is ramped up at north end.
