Bridge. 1830-40. Architect, John Forbes. Stone. Horizontal rustication. Balustraded parapets. 2 off-centre urns to each side. Central coat of arms. HISTORICAL NOTE: Pittville was developed for Joseph Pitt c1825-42, the general layout being designed by John Forbes with the Park as its centrepiece. One of a pair of bridges to Pittville Lake. 'An accomplished and subtle design', (Verey). Adjacent to Railings, Gates and Gate Piers over Wymans Brook to Viaduct, Evesham Road (qv). (The Buildings of England: Verey D: Gloucestershire: The Vale and The Forest of Dean: London: 1970-: 152).
