Pair of houses. Early C18; early C19 and C20 alteration and
extension. Roughcast brick, No.15 whitened; slate roof with
brick-coped left gable and rendered stacks.
EXTERIOR: 3 storeys; each house has 2-window front. No.15 has
2-panel front door in half heck form, No.16 a half-glazed
4-panel front door: both under plain stone hoods on consoles.
No.15 has flat-roofed canted bay window to left of door, to
right a pointed 2-sided oriel, both new C20 windows with
glazing bars: on first floor, two 8/8 sashes.
No.16 has 6/6 sashes on both ground and first floors. Both
houses have horizontal sliding sashes with glazing bars on
second floor, two to No.15, one to No.16. Projecting bands at
first and second floor levels.
Left return has an added open porch, with lead roll hipped
roof, to No.16 fronts a half glazed boarded door; above,
original glazing bar sashes.
INTERIOR: boarded and 4-panel doors, wide boarded doors on
strap hinges. Staircases with winders and turned balusters.
Exposed softwood chamfered beams, ceiling joists and purlins.
