II

Farmhouse, now a house. Dated 1843. Well coursed and squared tooled stone with graded slate roof. EXTERIOR: 2 storeys, 4-window range with main entrance to left of centre, and an additional doorway to the right, both in chamfered architraves. Four 2-light mullioned windows to first floor, and mullioned and transomed windows of 2 and 3 lights below. Coped gable to right, corbelled gable end stack to left, and axial stack between the 2 right-hand units. Stacks have twist and lozenge decoration. Rear wing to north, with segmental oriel window sprung from paired corbels to ground floor, and 2-light mullioned window above. Ornate coped gable with exaggerated kneelers. In the angle of the wing, a lean-to roof sweeps down over a formerly open verandah now glassed in, and a single bay with wide arched window on each floor adjacent to the wing, the upper window in a gabled dormer. Doorway to verandah in return wall, with coped gable with stag head in high relief over the entrance. In the main south gable of the house, datestone with 'A.B.C. archt.' INTERIOR: not inspected.
