SD7109NE HIGHER BRIDGE STREET 797-1/14/122 (West side) 26/04/74 Former New Jerusalem Church (Formerly Listed as: HIGHER BRIDGE STREET Elim Pentecostal Church. Manse adjoining Elim Pentecostal Church)

Chapel, built as New Jerusalem Church, later Elim Pentecostal church and now a retail warehouse. Dated 1844. Designed by James Greenhalgh (Bolton Journal). Brick with slate roof. EXTERIOR: pedimented gable facing street with central doorway in Tuscan architrave, flanked by tall round arched windows. Similar round arched window over doorway, and datestone in apex. Wood cornice of pediment apparently renewed. 4-window returns, also with round arched windows, all with margin lights. INTERIOR: no original features survive. (Bolton Journal (Pictorial Bolton Series CXXIX): 1886-).
