Villa. c1830-34. Stucco over brick with concealed roof and end brick and stucco stacks to main range iron railings. EXTERIOR: 2 storeys on basement and with attic, 4 first-floor windows arranged 3:1. Bay to right set back. Stucco detailing includes end pilasters to right bay, first-floor band, ground-floor windows with elliptically-arched recesses over; crowning continuous frieze, with cornice to main range. First floor has 6/6 sashes; ground floor has 6/6 between 2/2 sashes; basement has 8/8 and 8/8 between 2/2 sashes; all in plain reveals and with sills. Central entrance to main range, flight of 7 roll-edged steps to porch with Doric pillars and architrave with wreaths, within a panelled door and overlight. Attic roof dormer. INTERIOR: not inspected. SUBSIDIARY FEATURES: stick balusters to sides of steps with wreathed handrail. HISTORICAL NOTE: houses along Tivoli Road (known as Tivoli) are shown as laid out on Merrett's Map of 1834, with Tivoli Lawn shown as built. Verey cites this as derived from designs by JB Papworth.
