Terrace of 18 houses. Numbered right to left, described left to right. c1830-40. Stucco over brick with concealed roofs and brick party-wall stacks. EXTERIOR: 2 storeys, 38 first-floor windows (2 per house with 3 to 2 houses at right). Stucco detailing includes Doric pilasters to party-walls (except to 5 houses to left) which interrupt first-floor band, crowning entablature, low parapet and copings. 2/2 horizontal-pane sashes where original, several to ground floor are tripartite with 2/2 sidelights; some first-floor openings are blind. All in plain reveals and with sills. Entrances: 3-panel doors where original, with overlights. Cambered-arched opening at right with C20 doors. INTERIOR: not inspected. HISTORICAL NOTE: several houses in the area shown as built on Merrett's Map of 1834. A substantially complete surviving example of an artisan terrace.
