GV II
Coach house and servants quarters to Aldwarden Hill (qv), now dwelling. 1907. Richard Harding Watt. Rendered over brick with pantiled roof. Edwardian Free style. EXTERIOR: 2-storeyed, with partly enclosed staircase against gable wall facing street, the gable wall projecting to form timbered canopy. 3 segmentally-arched openings to ground floor of north elevation with recessed doors and windows inserted on conversion to dwelling. Irregular line of windows to first floor immediately below overhanging eaves. Tower to right is largely a high screen wall with stepped profile. Lean-to wing beyond probably a later addition associated with use as a dwelling. INTERIOR: not inspected. One of a remarkable series of buildings erected in Legh Road under the patronage of Richard Harding Watt: see The Old Croft (qv).
