House. Dated 1904. By Percy Worthington. Roughcast render over brick with stone dressings and plain tiled roof. L-plan with entrance in porch at angle. EXTERIOR: 2 storeys; asymmetrical convex porch with door in ashlar architrave with datestone above the doorway. Principal rooms in south range, which has four 3-light windows to first floor and a 4-light oriel window carried on massive stone brackets beneath a gable with stack at apex. Ground floor has half-canted bay window adjoining porch, and segmentally-arched recess beneath gable to right incorporating a wooden bench below 2-light window. West facing gable has projecting square bay with canted 6-light stone mullioned and transomed window. All windows have stone sills and leaded lights. East wing has canted bay adjoining porch, then expressed chimney with renewed 4-light casement window beyond. Continuous sill band to first floor of both wings. Further axial and gable end stacks. INTERIOR: substantial elements of original work, with joinery including wall-panelling and staircase, fireplaces including one with copper hood, high tiled surround and plaster coving above, and a plaster vine-scroll frieze in one room. SUBSIDIARY FEATURES: beyond the east wing to the north, a high wall linking the house with former coach house now garage is pierced by a segmental archway.
