Pair of houses. 1864. Built for one John Smith. Grey brick
with stucco dressings and slate roofs with 2 gable and 2 side
wall stacks.
Plinth, impost and first floor bands, bracketed eaves,
pedimented gables. 2 storeys plus attics, 6 bays. Windows are
plain sashes. Symmetrical south front has a recessed centre, 4
bays, with flanking wings, each with a canted bay window with
balcony railing. That to the left has a C20 French window.
Above, a round headed window with a segmental pediment and
eared surround. In the centre, 4 round headed windows with
keystones, and above, 4 segment headed windows with balconies
on brackets and eared architraves with keystones.
Each end has an off-centre doorcase with pilasters, segmental
head and keystone, and half-glazed door..
INTERIORS have enriched moulded cornices and dogleg stairs
with landings, turned balusters, ramped and scrolled
handrails.
