Also known as: Nos.26 AND 26A STEEP HILL.
2 houses, now 2 shops. Early and mid C18, with mid C19
alterations, incorporating in the south wall part of the City
wall and part of the south gate of the Roman Colonia. Brick,
partly colourwashed, with stone dressings and plain tile and
pantile roofs with a gable stack. Rendered plinth, first floor
band to left, sill band to right. 3 storeys, and 2 storeys
plus attics, 3 bays. To left, a glazing bar shop window with
cornice, C19, and to its right, a half-glazed door and
overlight. To right, an altered shop window with cornice, mid
C19, and to its right, a late C19 door.
Above, to left, a square wooden oriel window, mid C19, with
plain sashes. To right, 2 glazing bar sashes. Above again, to
left, 2 small plain sashes. To right, 2 segment headed dormers
with sliding sashes.
