GV II

2 houses, now 2 houses and shops. Mid and late C18, with mid
C19 alterations. Brick, with partly rendered and painted
ground floor and gabled and hipped pantile roofs with single
ridge and gable stacks.
No.44 has rebated eaves and coped gable. 3 storeys plus
attics, 3 bays.
No.43, to left, has a 2 bay front with 2 wooden shopfronts,
mid C19, with pilasters and single windows with cornices, that
to right with panelled shutters. To the left, a moulded
doorcase with a recessed half-glazed door. To the right, a
plain sash. Above, 2 glazing bar sashes, and above again, a
smaller casement and a glazing bar sash, all with segmental
heads.
No.44, to right, has a wooden shopfront with pilasters and
cross mullioned window with cornice. To its left, a
half-glazed door with overlight, in a moulded surround. Above,
a central glazing bar sash with rubbed brick head. Above
again, a blank panel, and above again, an off-centre segment
headed dormer.
