GV II

House, now flats. Late C18, mid C19 extension, late C19
alterations. Red brick in Flemish bond, concrete plain tiled
roof, bonnet hips.
EXTERIOR: 3 storeys with attics, 2-bay front originally one of
a pair with the adjacent house No 7. Rendered pinth, moulded
and modillion eaves cornice. To ground floor a pair of plain
sashes, to 1st floor 2 very tall glazing bar sashes and above
2 smaller similar windows, all with flat rubbed brick wedge
lintels. In the front roof slope a single glazing bar sash
dormer with gabled lead roof and cheeks. To the left a
3-storey, 3-bay mid C19 addition. To right an 8-panel door
with sidelights under broad segmental arch. To 1st floor a
large central oriel window, late C19, on exposed joists, with
panelled top frieze, plain sashes, swept leaded roof, flanked
by single blank openings. To 2nd floor 3 glazing bar sashes
with wedge lintels. To the rear later C19 additions.
INTERIOR: retains some plaster panelling and details from mid
C19 phase.
