House. Late C19. With red brick quoins, reveals, panels and
bands, the intervening panels being made of small almost
flint-like panels of ironstone, with yellow brick crosses and
diamonds. Slate roof with decorative finials, single ridge and
wall stacks. L-plan on corner site.
EXTERIOR: 2 storeys with attic front, with brick dentilled
eaves. Frontage to Irby Place has to the left a tall
full-height canted bay, with a single casement to each face.
To the right a single-storey square bay window, with
battlemented parapet and 2 sashes divided by a brick pier,
with narrower side sashes. To 1st floor 3 similar windows to
the canted end and a single casement above the bay window. At
the head of the canted section 3 small lights at eaves level,
and a single gabled dormer in the canted hipped roof.
To Tower Street a gabled section with a single casement to
each floor, that to the attic with a rounded head. To the
right a half-glazed entrance door with overlight and casement
above. Beyond to the right a lower 2-storey rear wing with a
single casement to each floor. Windows are 2-light casements
with plain overlight and segmental arches of alternate red and
blue bricks.
