GV II

3 houses, now old peoples home. 1786, part rebuilt and
extended C20. Red brick in Flemish bond, plain tiled roof,
with brick coped gable to right, 2 gable and 3 ridge stacks.
EXTERIOR: 2 storeys plus attics, 18-bay front, arranged
5:3:5:5. The 8 bays to the left are a C20 copy. Low cement
rendered plinth, brick band, dentilled wooden eaves cornice.
The 2 original houses have 5 bays each, with central
6-panelled doors with traceried fanlight, set in plain
pilastered doorcases with open pediments and panelled reveals.
The C20 range has a matching doorcase at the centre of its
5-bay range. Windows are glazing bar sashes with flat rubbed
brick arches with stucco keystones. In the roof are 11 gabled
dormers, with leaf roof and cheeks, and glazing bar sash
windows. No.52 retains mid C18 staircase.
