GV II

House and shop, now opticians. Early C19. Red brick with
stucco dressings, hipped slate roof, 3 ridge stacks, 2
reduced. The building stretches between Bargate End and
Horncastle Road, and has rounded corners to each end.
EXTERIOR: 3 storeys, 5-bay front, arranged 2:3, with to left a
panelled doorway with radiating fanlight and Doric
half-columns to doorcase, with open pediment. Flanked by
single plain sashes. To right a similar door and doorcase,
with to left a plain sash, and to right a plain sash, which is
with the glazing bar shop front on the right-hand corner set
beneath a fascia with dentilled cornice and console bracket to
each end. To 1st floor 5 plain sashes. To 2nd floor 5 similar
smaller sashes. All windows have cambered heads and wedge
stucco lintels. Each return has a plain sash to 1st and 2nd
floor.
