Little Dower House
II
House. 1824, extended c. 1890 restored late C20 . Red brick with painted ashlar dressings. Hipped slate roof with two ridge chimney stacks. Rendered plinth. Two storey.
Main façade has 3 windows. Central doorway with 6-panel door in moulded wooden surround. Later gabled timber porch. Either side single 9-pane glazing bar sash windows with painted ashlar lintels and cills, plus original panel shutters. Above three 6-pane glazing bar sash windows also with similar lintels and cills.
Left return has door to right under timber lintel with C20 half-glazed door. And to left a C20 3-light casement window. Above an original early C19 2-light casement.
Right return has canted bay window with glazing bar casement windows probably added c. 1890.
Rear façade has gabled wing, added or raised c. 1890 with two 2-light casements on each floor.
INTERIOR has original stick baluster staircase with moulded handrail. Parlour has moulded plaster coving and an original moulded timber chimney-piece. Many original 4-panel doors survive in moulded surrounds.
