2 houses, now part of the King's School. c1740's with later
additions and alterations. Pinkish-red brick in Flemish bond
with plain tile roof hipped at left, renewed brick left end
stack; cast-iron bracket. 2 storeys plus attics, 4 first-floor
windows. 3-course first-floor band. First floor has three 8/8
sashes in flush frames and with cambered arches, the two left
arches are wider indicating earlier, wider openings; further
blocked window at right with cambered arch. Ground floor:
plinth. At left a blocked opening with cambered arch, then
10/10 sash and 8/8 sash, both in near-flush frames and with
cambered arches; to right a further blocked window with
cambered arch. Off-centre right entrance, part-glazed door,
the lower 2 panels flush-beaded; tooled and renewed surround
with hood and cambered arch over; boot scraper set into wall
at left. 3-course eaves band and modillion cornice. 3 attic
dormers, one box and two gabled, casement windows. Tie rod
ends and carriage lamp on ornate bracket. Right return to
Edgar Street: one first-floor window. Ground and first floors
each have 2/2 horned sash under flat arch of gauged brick.
Shaped modillion cornice. Half-basement has grille.
INTERIOR: not inspected.
All the listed buildings in College Precincts (qqv) form a
good group and part of the setting for Worcester Cathedral
(qv). Nos. 11 and 12 also form a significant group with Nos.
2-16 (consecutive) Edgar Street (qqv), Tower House, No.1
Severn Street (qv) and Edgar Tower, College Green (qv).
