The Manor House
GV II
House, now flats. Early C19 with later additions and
alterations. Painted brick with stone dressings; hipped slate
roof; end stacks.
PLAN: Single-depth plan with central entrance and staircase.
Shorter and lower parallel service range to rear left. 3
storeys and basement. 3 first-floor windows. Stone detailing
includes sills; brick detailing includes semi-circular arched
recess enclosing entrance and first-floor window above. 6/6
sashes in plain reveals with sills and flat gauged brick
arches; centre second-floor window is 3/3, to left and right
are paired side-hung casements. 2 steps to 6-panel entrance
door, bottom panels flush-beaded, upper panels raised and
fielded with inset corners and similar inscribed design;
radial pattern fanlight with segmental margin glazing. Front
cellar which extends out under the pavement is vaulted brick.
INTERIOR: not inspected but ground-floor right noted as
retaining internal panelled shutters.
